Hi, I’m Beth, the heart behind Barks & Brushes for Pups!

I’m a stay-at-home mom with a lifelong love for animals. For over a decade, I’ve been deeply involved in the world of animal rescue through fostering, advocating, and loving countless dogs who simply needed a second chance. The work is rewarding, but it can also be emotionally heavy. I’ve seen so much heartbreak, and I needed a way to channel those feelings into something healing, for both the animals and myself.

One day, on a whim, I picked up a paintbrush. I had never painted before, I couldn’t even draw a stick figure, but something inside me said, Just try. That first painting opened a door I didn’t even know existed. Without any formal training, I began to create, learning as I went, pouring my heart into every brushstroke.

What started as a personal outlet quickly became a mission. Barks & Brushes for Pups is now my way of giving back. Each piece I create is inspired by the animals I’ve loved and the stories of rescue that continue to move me. A portion of every sale goes directly to supporting rescue organizations, helping provide care, comfort, and second chances for pups still waiting for their forever homes.

As a fun and meaningful nod to my mission, I try to include a hidden dog in each of my paintings. It is a small tribute to the rescues who inspire me and a reminder of why this work matters.

Today, I share my life with my incredible family and five amazing rescue dogs, and they continue to be my greatest muses. This little business is more than art. It’s a tribute to the animals who’ve touched my life, and a promise to keep giving back, one painting at a time.
